Deaf, Hard of Hearing & Deaf-Blind Well-Being Program - Mental Health Services for deaf, hard of hearing, & deaf-blind people throughout BC

Provides mental health and wellness services for deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind people and their families across BC. Services include all ages from young children to older adults.
The Deaf Well-Being Program provides counselling for people dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, or anger difficulties. The program also supports individuals in navigating life changes, exploring identity issues, and enhancing wellness.
Services include:
  • mental health counselling therapy
  • mental health and addictions appointments interpreting services
  • drug and/or alcohol addiction support
  • system navigation
  • advocacy
  • education related to deaf culture
  • psychiatric assessments and consultation
  • psycho-educational workshops and community education
  • mental health interpreting

Additional services available in the Lower Mainland include:
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Group: for people struggling with depression
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Group: for clients struggling with understanding and controlling their feelings, thoughts, and behaviours
  • Anger Treatment Group: for clients struggling with managing their anger

The program also provides Mental Health Community Workshops in a variety of communities in BC such as Kelowna and Prince George.

If you are interested in any of these services, please contact the office for an intake appointment. Information will be gathered during the intake appointment. Further explanation about our services will be provided during the appointment and you will be referred to a service that best suits your needs.

Details: Referrals must be done with consent from guardian and child/youth. Contact organization for an intake appointment.
